Child Safety

At Boroondara Preschool we are committed to provide a safe environment that protects children and supports families. We promote cultural safety within our diverse community which  includes:

• Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander children and families.

• Children and Families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

• Children and Families with additional needs

• Safety of trans and gender diverse children and their families in ECEC settings.

• Ensuring that LGBTQIA+ children and families feel included.

We consistently act with child safety as our priority, which includes:

• Ensuring that our environment has a zero tolerance to child abuse.

• Implementation of the 11 Child Safe Standards within our centre and Committee.

• Empowering children's rights through our Head of Organisation, our Responsible Person approval and ensuring our Staff are highly responsive to each child’s needs.

• Providing a safe and healthy environment for all children.

We will continue to act in the best interests of the child through consistently valuing their voices.
